Blender Lane Artists Market

Blender Ln Artists Market

I had come across this ‘artists market’ once, maybe last year. I was just walking around with a camera in my hand, and happened across it. There were stalls with hand crafts and arts on display for sale, and there was a building in the back that looked like a resident artist workshops. Time flew by and my friend Bee, the painter, told me she’s setting up her stand there, telling me this is a weekly thing that is on Wednesdays during the summer. So I decided to go and check it out.

All the photographs here were taken with permission from the event organiser and artists. Let’s not just ‘grab a shot’ of people when they set up business in a public space. Candid is one thing, and I love candid snaps – that’s what I do. But people busking and doing business… it would be nice to just ask – ‘Mind if I took a photo?’ If they say ‘Yes’, then just walk away.

Anyhow, thank you, everyone, for allowing me to photograph those images of your creative environment. As I said before, you see any issue with any of photos of you up on this blog or Facebook, please let me know.

If you have not been to one of these, do check it out (Facebook page here). It is in a laneway just off Franklin Street, only a block away from the Night Market that is on at Queen Victoria Market.

Joo Lee of Lord Butler (Flowers and Gifts shop) can arrange flowers for personal gifts, corporate or any other purpose, with an earthy, organic touch. Her small pots of plants all looked so cute in there! Thank you for helping me with a bouquet, too!
